Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A few months ago, a mark appeared on my arm rapidly, almost overnight, about 4 to 5 mm, red and scaly. I have attached an image. Over the next few weeks, it faded and lost its scaliness. It has been slowly fading but has not gone entirely away. Now it looks like a small bruise (I have attached a picture from today) with no scaliness. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is unclear about your age, symptoms, allergies, associated diseases, any investigations done, treatment taken, or any other significant history. It may be due to dryness or allergy, or an eczema-type lesion. It appears it has almost subsided.

1. Maintain hygiene.

2. Do not use harsh soaps. Use moisturizing soaps if associated with dry skin.

3. Use moisturizing creams, too, after the bath.

4. Avoid irritation.

5. Check for any allergies, if any.

You can get back with details for clarification. You can consult your dermatologist if it worsens further.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

I am 40, with no other symptoms or history of allergies and no other diseases other than gallstones. I get a lot of sun at the place I live. I have had two spots removed, one from my back and one from my stomach. Both were noncancerous, although the one on my back was listed as junctional melanocytic nevus with mild architectural disorder and mild cytologic atypia.

Regarding the current spot, no investigations or treatments have been done. I just observed it to see if it got worse, and it dried up and appeared to be subsiding, although it possibly has stopped subsiding. So I should just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, see a dermatologist?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Continue your treatment for gallstones as suggested by your doctor. The arm lesion appears to be subsiding. Yes, observing it is critical. However, consult your dermatologist if it worsens . Otherwise, relax.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
