Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 30-year-old male. Ever since my 20s, I have had a constant, uncomfortable accumulation of mucus in my sinuses, and the pressure would cause headaches.
And I eventually learned to suck it out of my sinus into my mouth to spit out or swallow. And I continuously do that now all day. I cannot feel any air passage in my ears when I yawn, with some vague crackling sounds.
Kindly assist.

Patient's Query
Thank you, doctor,
I have no fever nor chronic disease. The mucus is white, but I think it is slightly yellow when concentrated in the morning. My nose is not stuffy or runny at all. It all just goes straight to my throat. I am allergic to some things, such as hazelnuts and grass. I tried a Fluticasone propionate nasal spray earlier today, but my body was aching by the end of the day, and I had a headache. I am not sure if I should continue.
I hope it gives you a better picture.
Kindly assist.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I have read your query.
Yes, you have to continue the nasal spray until the last puff. I think that it is allergic rhinitis (an inflammatory, immune-mediated reaction to allergens like pollen, dust mites, or pet dander, causing chronic sneezing, congestion, a runny nose, and itchy eyes).
The next step, if the intranasal corticosteroid spray does not work well, would be immunotherapy. You can add an oral antihistamine, such as Loratidine tablets, once daily until the end of symptoms. Drink warm fluids, as it can make the mucus more liquid to be easily expelled.
I hope this answers your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
