Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am worried about my lips. It is dry, swollen, itching, and chapped. I am an adolescent girl. I went to several physicians, used numerous lotions and ointments, and consumed innumerable medications, all in vain.
The doctor stated it was due to dehydration, so I began drinking a lot of water, but it was ineffective. The doctor recommended applying Vaseline anytime it becomes dry. Still, the problem is that if I use Vaseline lotion, olive oil, or anything else to keep my lips from drying out, it worsens things by causing more edema, redness, and a burning feeling.
I have been feeling a little down because of this issue; please help me overcome it.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
According to your descriptions, you have either allergic responses or angioedema, which causes your lips to swell.
After contacting your doctor, you can use lip bless (Kojic Dipalmitate, Niacinamide, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, and Octocrylene) cream with a tablet of Cetirizine once daily.
A one-of-a-kind solution that lightens, moisturizes, and protects lips. Apply the cream thrice daily with your fingertip or directly from the tube. Apply the cream in a circular or back-and-forth motion to cover the lips uniformly.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
