Chemical pneumonitis is a type of lung inflammation. It occurs when somebody accidentally breathes in potent chemical fumes or chokes on a chemical substance. It may be a noxious chemical from one's workplace like lab supplies, pesticides, fertilizer aerosols, or smoke and other gases.
