What could cause chest pain after an angiogram is done?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from chest pain for the past many days. I have had an angiogram done. Kindly view my reports.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern regarding chest pain.

I went through your reports (the attachments were removed to protect the patient's identity).

Your report suggests that one of the vessels of the heart is narrowed. This can explain your chest pain. But not all the time; chest pain in this condition happens if there is 90 % blockage in the artery.

Can you please send me your original CT angiography report?

You should be started on Nebivolol (beta blocker) as your cardiologist advised to dilate your vessel and relieve your chest pain.

If you still feel chest pain, then invasive angiography is recommended to put the stent and open up your artery.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

What is Nebivolol used for?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Nebivolol is a beta blocker that controls your heart rate and also may dilate your coronary vessels to relieve your chest pain. Whenever you get the reports, please send them to me so that I can guide you further.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
