Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife has had pain and weakness in her left leg for the past 15 years. Recently, she developed weakness and numbness in her left arm, face, and tongue. She was diagnosed with a 5 mm Chiari malformation and was given steroids to relieve migraines. After seeing a neurosurgeon, she was told she was not eligible for surgery. She was tested for multiple sclerosis, but with no lesions and multiple side symptoms that was ruled out. These symptoms are shown only when she does strenuous work. We had taken an MRI and CT of the head. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to Icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Without examining your wife, seeing the reports (attachments removed to protect patient privacy) is like shooting in the dark. Where is this malformation located? Why was she declared unfit for surgery- was it due to anesthetic risks or surgical risks? Have you sought a second opinion? Is your wife on any medication? Have they tried Pregabalin or similar drugs?

Please revert to these answers so that I can guide you better.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
