Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
A 17-year-old female with a combination of fair skin is experiencing several dermatological concerns. The primary issues include dry patches on the cheeks, while the forehead, nose, and chin tend to be oily. Additional concerns are acne, acne marks, pigmentation, tanning, dark circles, blackheads, whiteheads, and an overall dull appearance of the skin. It is important to note that products containing salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide cause a burning sensation on the skin, indicating sensitivity or potential intolerance to these ingredients.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I am very sorry to hear about your medical condition, and I appreciate that you are paying close attention to changes in your body. Please do not worry. I am here to take care of you. Based on your symptoms, it appears that you may have developed a hyperpigmented skin lesion with acneiform eruption, possibly due to hormonal imbalance or cosmetic-related changes.
The following treatment regimen is recommended:
Take Minocycline 500 mg (a tetracycline-class antibiotic; include Minocin or Solodyn) orally, three times daily (PO TID) for one week.
Apply topical Resorcinol 2 percent once daily (QD), or topical Tretinoin 0.1 percent (a retinoid, including Retin-A or Atralin) twice daily (BID), or topical Dapsone 5 percent gel (an anti-inflammatory agent; brand name Aczone) once daily for one month.
For additional topical treatment, apply either Tacrolimus 0.2 percent cream (a calcineurin inhibitor, Protopic), Clobetasol propionate 0.05 percent ointment (a potent corticosteroid, Clobex), or Hydrocortisone 0.2 percent cream (a mild corticosteroid) twice daily for one month.
I hope this helps.
Take care.
