How to manage constipation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a constipation issue, and whenever it happens, blood appears at the end of my stool due to strenuous bowel movement and irritation. I have used Polyfax (topical antibiotic) ointment, and tablet Daflon. Please suggest treatment.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I am very sorry about your medical condition and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry. I am here to take care of you.

Regarding your symptoms and diagnosis of anal tear, I know how uncomfortable it is to have this lesion, especially when you want to defecate. I see you have a history of constipation. Any anal sex?

I advise you to do the following:

  1. Please drink a lot of water.

  2. Eat fruits and vegetables.

  3. Exercise regularly.

  4. Please sit on warm water mixed with Dettol twice daily and then insert an intrarectal Anusol (Hydrocortisone) suppository twice daily for one week.

  5. Syrup liquid Paraffin (Paraffin oil) 20 ml to be taken orally, twice daily for one week.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.
