How to manage constipation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 24 years old female. I have switched my unhealthy diet to a healthy diet but suddenly I have experienced constipation and hard to poop today. For the first time, I experienced blood in my stools.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It looks like this blood is due to piles only. That usually aggravates with constipation and oily and spicy foods.

I advise you to do the following:

  1. Avoid constipation in the future.

  2. Increase water and fiber intake.

  3. Tablet Trenaxa 500 mg (Tranexamic acid) (anti-fibrinolytics) is to be taken twice daily after meals.

  4. Tablet Daflon 500 mg (vitamin and mineral supplement) twice daily after meals.

  5. Syrup Duphalac 30 ml (laxative) to be taken at bedtime with a glass of water for five days.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
