How to get rid of an itchy scalp with tiny red bumps?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have problems with my scalp. My scalp is very itchy, sometimes it feels like something is ticking under the skin, and there are small red bumps in some areas that are very itchy. I do not have any excessive dandruff or any dry scaly patches. Could you let me know what is it and how to treat it?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

Regarding your symptoms, it seems you have developed a cosmetic dermatitis. I suggest you take a tablet of Paracetamol (analgesic) and apply a 0.02 percent Hydrocortisone (corticosteroid) ointment twice daily.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
