Cord edema is a radiological finding seen in acute injuries, inflammatory lesions, or cancer. However, it is rare in degenerative disorders of the spine. Treatment includes giving NSAIDs for relieving pain and steroids for reducing the swelling. In more acute cases, high-dose steroids are given.
