Patient's Query
Hello Doctor,
I am a 42 year old male. I have been suffering from presumably long-covid for the last two and half years. I suffer mostly from fatigue and brain fog which has a profound impact on my quality of life. It renders me pretty inactive most of the time, which I try to compensate with exercise like yoga, walking, swimming and running. After exercise I feel extremely exhausted. Besides the common long-covid symptoms I have been getting various health conditions in the past few years like UTI's, suspected kidney stones and throat infections. About four months ago I have developed chronic bronchitis, neck pain and had an episode of vertigo.
Kindly have a look at my recent CT-scan as a second opinion. This is what the radiologist concluded: 1. There are no visible abnormalities in the cast and lungs bilaterally 2. Multiple simple liver cysts 3. Thoracic spondylosis The liver cysts were a point of worry, but after some blood test and the fact that my mother has the same condition, we've concluded that they are most probably harmless. The bone spurs make me wonder if they are the cause of my neck pain (and cracking sounds) and if this condition is perhaps worsened by my inactivity. Apart from that I would like to know if there is anything else that perhaps has been overlooked? Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hi, Thank you for sharing your CT scan report. I agree that the scan didn't show any problems with your lungs, which is good news. The liver cysts are most likely not harmful, as we discussed before. The thoracic spondylosis with bone spurs could be the reason for your neck pain, especially if you're not moving around much. I recommend doing some exercises and maybe getting advice from a specialist to help manage this. Also, I suggest you get an HIV test for your overall health check. Take care,
