Patient's Query

Hi,

I have recently been found to be COVID positive and was house isolated as per the doctors' advice. I had severe respiratory difficulty, and when I searched the symptoms on the internet, it came up with SARS as a possible diagnosis. Now I am confused about what is COVID and what is SARS? Can you please explain?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

COVID-19 is caused by a virus named SARS COV 2 virus. Hence the name SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) is mentioned.

SARS COV first caused a limited pandemic nearly ten years back. SARS COV 2 is a new strain of this virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
