It is described as a dental anomaly. There is a presence of an additional cusp on the palatal surface of the mesiopalatal cusp of maxillary permanent molars and maxillary second deciduous molars. This additional cusp is completely non-functional. It is composed of enamel, and dentine with or without pulpal extension.
