Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 23-year-old female. I have bloated, sore breasts, 10 days late on the menstrual cycle, a negative pregnancy test, appendectomy on the 20th.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Near menses or missed periods can give signs of bloated breasts, the fullness of the abdomen, and mood variations due to hormones. Have a serum beta hCG (blood pregnancy test) to clear the status of pregnancy. If the pregnancy test is negative, you can have menstrual induction by hormones if you want.
Some other factors can also delay periods, such as a strict diet, strenuous exercise, thyroid abnormalities, hormonal imbalance, illness, hormone or medicine intake, anemia, etc. Check these factors as well. If in the coming cycles you also observe irregularity without any reason, then you might need investigations.
Thank you.
