Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 26 year old female. Dengue fever is frequent in my neighborhood. I am curious about the nature of the epidemic, why it is so prevalent in one location, any preventive measures that might be implemented, and how the people in our community can keep informed and safe. In addition, I would also like to know if there are any kind of immunization or screening recommendations. I would like to understand it.

Please help,

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Dengue is transmitted by mosquitoes carrying the harmful organism dengue virus. Fever, body pains, headache, and moderate flu-like symptoms are among the symptoms. Self-limitation is usually achieved in one week. Platelets in the blood might decline and cause bleeding. This is referred to as dengue hemorrhagic fever. Only paracetamol is used to treat fever and no other NSAIDS are utilized. In extreme situations, platelets may need to be transfused. The third and most serious variety is dengue shock syndrome, in which capillaries bleed and blood pressure decreases. This necessitates ICU (intensive care unit) admission. The best way to avoid mosquitos is to cover all of the water in your home, where this mosquito is attracted to pure water.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
