This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I feel very sad or hopeless because my relationship has been good for days. But day by day, I think all solutions are in suicide. I am aggressive with every reaction, and I end up crying.

Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I understand your concern.

Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I can understand your situation and your problem. You may have major depressive disorder due to your relationship. There is non-pharmacological management for your depression; you should try to follow the below guidelines to deal with it. It will help you.

You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes like at least going for a walk. It will uplift your mood.

You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily, just sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let it be. it will relax you.

You should eat healthy home-cooked foods and avoid junk foods.

You must drink enough water.

You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family.

You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.

You should get enough seven to eight hours of sleep daily.

You must avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any substance abuse.

Live your life; do not just spend it.

Be bold and confident.

Suicide is not the solution to any problem, but every problem has one good solution.

If you have a problem in a relationship, then talk about it with your partner.

If you feel that your relationship is toxic then you must move on from it. You will have a better one in the future.

You should start taking a 20mg capsule of Fluoxetine daily in the morning after breakfast.

I hope this helps.

Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.

Regards.

Thank you.
