Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been brushing my teeth and tongue three times a day for two months now, but my teeth are still yellow, and I have bad breath. I have been using a good toothpaste and a double action toothbrush of a good brand. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It is advisable to consult a dentist for professional teeth cleaning. Teeth bleaching can also be considered to achieve teeth whitening for about a year.

Additionally, you can explore a home remedy for teeth whitening and maintaining fresh breath:

  1. Create a paste by mixing equal amounts of baking soda powder, salt, and lemon juice.

  2. Brush your teeth with this paste, followed by your regular toothpaste.

  3. Limit this procedure to twice a week.

  4. Expect to see results within a month.

  5. Ensure consistent oral hygiene and use mouthwash after brushing twice daily.

  6. Gargle with a mixture of salt water and turmeric twice daily.

  7. Use a mouth freshener after meals.

  8. Rinse your mouth with lukewarm water after eating.

  9. Use lukewarm water for all your mouth rinses.

  10. Avoid consuming spicy, garlic, and onion-rich foods.

  11. Consume a diet rich in fibrous foods and consider reducing non-vegetarian items.

  12. Clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner and use dental floss to remove food particles between your teeth.

I hope this helps.
