Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Five months ago, I experienced a fall on my elbow. About a month later, I began to experience dizziness, with a sensation of rocking forward and backward, particularly when sitting. I have ruled out hypotension and inner ear problems. I am considering undergoing a head and cervical spine MRI to investigate the cause of these symptoms. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Based on your description, cervical vertigo could be a potential cause of your dizziness. This condition arises from issues with the joints and muscles in the neck, affecting the signals sent to the brain related to balance and movement. While an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the head and cervical spine is a valuable step in ruling out other potential causes like inner ear problems or brain injuries, it may not directly address cervical vertigo.

Common treatments for cervical vertigo involve manual therapy techniques such as spinal manipulation or mobilization, along with exercises to enhance neck strength and flexibility. Could you please share your MRI reports with me for a more comprehensive understanding?

Thank you.
