Double pneumonia, also known as bilateral pneumonia, is an infection that simultaneously affects both lungs. When both lungs are affected, it can lead to more significant respiratory distress and systemic symptoms. Common symptoms of double pneumonia are high fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, and mucus production. It is treated by using antibiotics, antivirals, cough suppressants, oxygen therapy, or the administration of intravenous fluids. Practicing good hygiene and avoiding contact with infected people can prevent double pneumonia.
