Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had drinking water, and then I drank about 0.132 galloon afterward. I looked and discovered that there were floating black things that I did not know what they were. It was not dirt since the water was clean when I poured it, but it could be from a whiteboard eraser next to it. I honestly do not know what the black dots were. I tried vomiting the water that I drank, but I do not know if I was too late. Should I worry? And what should I do?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Based on your information, it is unclear what the black floating objects in the water were. They could be pieces of a whiteboard eraser, as you mentioned, or other types of debris that may have been in the water source. If the water source was clean when you poured it, it is unlikely that the black floating objects resulted from contamination. However, if you are concerned about the safety of the water, it is best to avoid drinking it in the future and instead opt for a reliable source of clean water. Since you have already consumed the water, you may experience gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, due to consuming the black floating objects. If you are experiencing any symptoms, it is best to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance. In the meantime, it is essential to practice good hygiene, such as washing your hands frequently and avoiding contact with your eyes, nose, and mouth, to help prevent the spread of infection.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
