Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male. I am experiencing neurological problems for the past twelve months. I started to have it due to eagle syndrome which is the elongation of the styloid process of the skull. I have lack of emotions and motivations. I am not internally happy, sad, and angry. I cannot feel stress or anxious. I have zero internal feelings of motivation. I have no internal driving force. I am not feeling pleasure from anything. My penis is unpleasurable and I do not have pleasure from orgasm. I am not able to get an erection for the past six months. When I sit or stand, I have a feeling of fainting or dizziness.

I have difficulty in feeling my internal body functions. My visceral sensations of hunger and thirst got greatly diminished. I feel very hard to imagine and picture things within my mind. I have small black and white shimmering dots all across my visual field. I searched it on the internet and it showed me as visual snow syndrome. My night vision got impaired and I often have flashes of color and light in my vision similar to migraine aura or other. I have a terrible short term and long term memory. I have difficulty in remembering things for more than fifteen minutes. I believe that it is caused due to emotional numbing symptoms. I have a feeling of detachment from my body and environment. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I passed carefully through your question. Your symptoms are suggestive of obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression. I do not think that your symptoms are related to eagle syndrome. It can trigger some of the autonomic symptoms, just in episodes and not persistently. I think that having this disorder, has made you think differently, and searching about this problem has made your mind to stimulate many other symptoms. The good news is that there is a cure for eagle syndrome and depression.

Eagle syndrome can be cured by surgery. Anyway, I would recommend trying psychotherapy and taking antidepressants first. In this regard, I would recommend trying Desvenlafaxine, which can help to improve your erectile dysfunction. You should discuss with your doctor regarding the treatment option. Consult your psychiatrist and psychotherapist too. Hope you find this answer helpful. Wishing you all the best.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
