What could be the best treatment for ear pain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had pain in my ear and poured about a capful of peroxide into my ear which is hurting a lot now and is not draining all the way. Is there an antibiotic to dry it out? I have a cold along with it and sinus congestion but do not fever. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Ear pain may be due to a middle or external ear infection. I would suggest you get examined by a near ENT (ear, nose, throat) surgeon or general physician. Meanwhile, you can follow the following steps:

  1. Take steam inhalation three times a day.
  2. Tablet Pantaprazole 40 one per day on an empty stomach.
  3. Tablet Zerodol sp (Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase.) twice a day after a meal.
  4. Tablet Clavam 625 (Amoxicillin and Potassium clavulanate) one twice a day.
  5. Put Otec AC ear drops ( Lidocaine, Beclometasone, Clotrimazole and Chloramphenicol) three times a day.

Follow this routine for five days.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
