Common "Ear Pop." queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Ear Pop.

Ear popping occurs due to clogged eustachian tubes. A Eustachian tube connects the ears to the sinuses. It helps in maintaining fluid and pressure in the inner and middle ear at the right level. The eustachian tube may have improper closing or opening while having allergies, cold, sinus infections, polyps, or tumors in the nose. It results in ear-popping. It is stopped by swallowing, yawning, Valsalva maneuver, and applying nasal decongestants.
