Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 20 years old; when I talk, my left ear pops, and I can hear my breath and heart beat louder than usual, and my right ear pops when I swallow. I close my ears back to where they feel comfortable and sniff through my nose. But as soon as I talk, they pop back open. So while I talk, my left ear constantly pops. This has been going on for years. I had ear infections as a child. Nowadays, I cannot hear very well; if anything else happens, I will have trouble hearing. Even the slightest noise hurts my ears. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. The symptoms of intolerance to loud sounds with impaired hearing are seen in Meniere's disease, anxiety, migraine, and noise-induced trauma. You should get a hearing test (PTA) which can give us an idea about the kind of hearing loss you have if any. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
