Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I do not know what has been coming out on my face for the past few weeks. I thought it was normal eczema, so I treated it as eczema, but I have seen no improvement. The problem is now spreading all over my face.
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I believe these are atopic dermatitis skin patches, also called eczema. Here is a breakdown of what might be happening and how to approach it beyond temporary fixes:
Hormonal imbalance may be the reason, especially if acne worsens around the time of menstruation, during periods of stress, or appears on the jawline or chin.
Oily skin and clogged pores. Creams alone may not be sufficient if your skin is naturally oily.
Diet and gut health, high sugar, dairy, or processed foods may worsen inflammation.
Incorrect skincare, harsh products, or over-washing can damage the skin barrier.
Long-term treatment options (stronger but effective):
Topical Tacrolimus Cream 0.2 percent (calcineurin inhibitor).
Topical Clobetasol Ointment 0.05 percent (corticosteroid) once daily.
Topical Hydrocortisone Cream 0.2 percent (corticosteroid) twice daily for one month.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me.
Thank you.
