Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 25-year-old male. Recently I discovered an ashy dark patch on the foreskin glance, right next to the urinal. Could you please let me know the cause? Is it something I have to be concerned about?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I saw your picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) and I think it is chronic eczema. Better assessments can be done if you add more photos for all sides of your penis. Until you upload them, I suggest you not rub or scratch the area, do not leave any soap residue and you can apply emollient (moisturizer) topically twice daily.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you so much for the quick response. I have uploaded more pictures. Can chronic eczema on the foreskin be cured? I started masturbating when I was 15; recently, I used water-based lubricants. Could this be happening due to masturbating? I was also sexually active for the past two years. But when I had sex, I used condoms every time. Is this a latex allergy? Please let me know what kind of soap I need to use to prevent this happen. Can any mild commercially available moisturizing lotion for dry skin help in reducing this?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I saw your clear pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). I think mild moisturizing lotions are fine. But, yes, latex, soap residue, frequent rubbing, synthetic fabric, all these and others could cause eczema. Therefore, in addition to the above-mentioned measures, I suggest you take the following medications. Use Ointment Tacrolimus topically once in the morning. Use Ointment Betnovate (Betamethasone) topically once in the evening. Take Tablet Desloratadine orally once daily.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
