Estrone

Estrone is one of the three types of estrogen produced by the ovaries. It is also produced by adipose tissue and adrenal glands. It seems to a weaker estrogen, and it is present in high quantities in postmenopausal women. As it is weak, it serves as a reservoir of estrogen in the body, and estrone gets converted to estrogen in the body when there is a need. Women with low estrogen levels can develop osteoporosis, and they have symptoms of post-menopause, such as hot flashes and poor sex drive. Women who are obese can produce a large amount of estrone, and they are at risk of developing endometrial and breast cancer in the future.
