My cousin is on life support with some virus. They mentioned a fifth disease and something called ECMO. What is that? Is it serious? They moved him to another hospital. I am confused about all this medical stuff. Is ECMO like a ventilator? How long can someone stay on it? What are his chances? I am trying to understand what is happening. He is a 13-year-old.
