Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 24-year-old woman. I have had redness, pain, and swelling in my eye for the past five days.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Based on your symptoms, it is likely that you have bacterial conjunctivitis, which is an infection and inflammation of the eye. This can be very uncomfortable.
I recommend you get an eye swab test and share the results with me. This will help identify the exact bacteria causing the infection. Also, please let me know if you have a history of using any illicit drugs, alcohol, or smoking.
To help your condition, you can apply warm compresses to your eye twice a day. Avoid exposure to wind or dry air, such as from ceiling fans or heaters. Take one capsule of Omega-3 fatty acids, 1000 milligrams, by mouth once daily for one month. Use topical Chloramphenicol 0.1% eye drops for five days.
If you do not see any improvement, use preservative-free artificial tears, such as Sodium hyaluronate (Hylo-Forte, Thealoz Duo, or Refresh Celluvisc), every one to two hours during the day.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
