Hello doctor,

My father-in-law, aged 67, fainted. Echo and ECG were done. Kindly advise regarding the reports. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I reviewed the reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), and they were fine. There are many other reasons why a person can faint and go unconscious. It is not only related to heart diseases but can be due to low sugar, vasovagal syncope, falling and hitting his head, etc. Based on the reports, his heart is fine. However, it is impossible to say what might have made him fall without further investigation. I would suggest consulting his attending doctor to getfurther tests like fasting blood sugar and ECG (electrocardiogram) to know the exact reason.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
