Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 31 years old, never smoked or drank alcohol, mostly vegetarian. I am unable to get pregnant and worried that something might not be okay. My doctor took hormone tests when we started trying to conceive, she gave me vitamin D and B12 and told me that everything was fine. From my perspective, the hormones are not okay. These are the results on day 3: LH 4.75 mUI/ml, FSH 7.15 mUI/ml, estradiol 228.00 pmol/L, prolactin 586.00 μIU/mL, testosterone 0.58 nmol/L. On day 22: progesterone 78.40 nmol/L. I think that I should visit a fertility specialist. Please review my reports.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your prolactin levels are high and you have low vitamin D3 and B12 levels which need supplementation. Prolactin can be controlled with dopamine antagonists like cabergoline. Rest all hormones are normal. Also, progesterone levels of day 22 indicate that you are likely ovulating and there is no luteal phase defect. I hope you have got your partner's semen analysis done already to rule out any male infertility.

I hope this helps.
