What is the normal range of penis girth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My girth is around 4 inches which is supposedly below average because I see online that the average is either 4.5. It also looks very skinny on platforms and I have seen people with the same girth sharing their stories and also how supposedly I would not be able to fit regular condoms. One thing to take into consideration is I am trying to overcome my porn addiction because my erections have become dependent on porn and they seem weak sometimes. Overall I am worried, and very anxious to the point that some days I just constantly stay in bed and I want to know if there is anything wrong with me and if I need to take some form of medication to increase girth ( if that exists) before I am too old.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

  1. The average length of the penis varies from 2.5 to 4 inches in the flaccid state and 4.5 to 6.5 inches in the erect state with a 1-inch diameter.

  2. Studies recommended flaccid penis length of fewer than 1.6 inches or an erect penis of fewer than 3 inches should be considered for treatment.

  3. The longer size will not make females happy, rather it will cause discomfort like the glans penis sensitive for males, the female sensation will be in the outer part 2 inches. A bigger penis or small penis has no effect on making a female happy.

  4. A male experiences erotic sensations in the glans penis, while the other part (shaft) of the penis does not respond to erotic stimulation.

  5. The only best method for increasing size is surgical (liposuction around the pubic bone, skin graft), injecting fat into the penis, or injection of HA (hyaluronic acid) into the penis. Inflatable penile prosthetics are helpful if the size is less than 3 inches.

  6. Other methods to increase size but very less chance of improvement; you can only try jelqing exercises. Jelqing is an exercise method that is a natural way to increase the size of the penis. It is a hand-over-hand rolling motion to move blood to the head of your penis and stretch it like a milking, a safe method but can cause pain, irritation, or scar tissue formation if you do it too often or aggressively.

  7. Stretching method: It involves attaching a stretcher or extender device to the penis traction device to the penis to exert gentle tension.

You can use the penis enlargement pump once a morning after or before a bath. Vacuum pumps draw blood into the penis, making it swell, they are used for treating erectile dysfunction. The vacuum pump can make a penis look larger temporarily. But using one too often or too long can damage elastic tissue in the penis, leading to fewer firm erections.

I hope this has helped you.

Please feel free to reach me again in case of further queries.

Thank you.
