What could cause nausea, headaches, and light-headedness?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been feeling nauseous and lightheaded with headaches. This has been going on for five days, and it is getting tiring to be sick all the time.
Please advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Do you have nausea or vomiting only? Light-headedness and headache can occur due to gastritis, along with nausea. How is the bowel movement? Are there loose stools? Is there heartburn, burping, or acid reflux?
As per the stated symptoms above, it seems to be gastritis. Taking PPI (proton pump inhibitor) like Rabeprazole DSR (Domperidone and Rabeprazole) before meals relieves the symptoms. If not relieved, complete an 11-day dose course of Rabeprazole DSR (Domperidone and Rabeprazole) once daily. Taking two glasses of lukewarm water clears off the nausea feeling, and if anything is present, it passes into the stools and makes a person feel light. For headaches, taking Paracetamol 500 mg gives some relief. If it is not relieved, getting diagnostic tests like CBC (complete blood count) and X-ray are recommended. Consult your specialist, discuss with him/her, and take the medicines with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
