Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Some months ago, I was diagnosed with IBS type M (irritable bowel syndrome mixed type). At that time, I had bloody mucus in my stool. My doctor suggested an intestinal ultrasound, and the results were clear, indicating no signs of IBD. Additionally, my family history is clear of cancer. Now, I am experiencing a mild level of constipation with diarrhea. However, for the past few days, I have noticed dark or black stools at the start of the first bowel movement of the day. After a while, normal stools occur. Should I be concerned about this?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Do not worry; I am here to take care of you. I believe you have a condition called gastroparesis, characterized by a poor involuntary intestinal movement that presents with constipation and abdominal discomfort. The stool color may be black before returning to normal, likely due to the prolonged constipation. Therefore, please consume a lot of fruits and vegetables, drink a large quantity of water, and take 0.338 fluid ounces of liquid Paraffin syrup orally twice a day.

If your symptoms persist, please schedule another appointment for follow-up via chat, phone, or video consultation. Thank you for using icliniq, and have a nice day.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
