Hello doctor,

I have doubts if I have glaucoma.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

May I know who diagnosed that for you? Have you undergone a complete eye examination and investigations by an ophthalmologist? Anybody can have glaucoma but some people are at higher risk if they have a family history of glaucoma, refractive myopia related to POAG (primary open-angle glaucoma), secondary glaucomas, etc. You would be worried that you have been diagnosed at a very younger age but getting diagnosed at an early stage is a good thing. Usually, glaucoma goes unnoticed and the patient presents at advanced stages, hence it is called the "silent thief of vision". But nowadays a list of treatment options like multiple eye drops, laser treatment, or drainage surgeries are available depending upon the case. The most important thing is that you should do regular follow-ups and compliance with treatment as it has no cure and the treatment goes lifelong. So I would suggest if you have been diagnosed with glaucoma do regular follow-ups with your doctor and keep your mind clear and positive. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
