Habit-tic Deformity

It is nail dystrophy caused by constant trauma to the nail matrix (the part from the nail grows). All the nails are affected, but thumbnails are the primary target. The cuticle (skin flap covering the bottom of the nail) is damaged and sometimes missing. It appears like a washboard. The extended time habit of picking up the nails and skin around that area forms this shape.
