Patient's Query
Hello doctor, I have just started to take vitamin supplements because of a slowly receding hairline. They are two tablets daily one is biotin and the other is selenium, both containing zinc and vitamins A, E, C, and B6. Is it okay to drink green tea while taking them? And is there anything I can do? Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome toicliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
I would like to explain hair fall. 20 to 100 hair falls every day are very normal. So, it should be considered hair loss only if the number of hairs falls more than this.
Straightening and other procedures also cause root weakness. Other conditions like fever, typhoid, malaria, thyroid disease, etc can also cause hair loss, but these are less common.
In males, most of the cases are of androgenic alopecia (a hereditary disease brought on by a disproportionately positive sensitivity to androgens). It is genetically determined disorder characterized by the gradual conversion of terminal hairs into indeterminate and finally into vellus hairs.
With your condition, you can use 5 % Minoxidil lotion with Finasteride (Morr-F lotion) in a one milliliter local application twice daily. For the initial two months, you may feel an increase in hair fall, but do not discontinue it.
Along with this, take vitamin supplements like tablet Xtraglo (biotin, copper, iron, selenium, and zinc, cysteine. lysine, methionine), or which you are taking. Use this once a day for six months. You can take green tea as well; it is good.
