What are the treatments for hyperpigmented patch?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have darkness around my mouth. Also, my skin looks dull and tanned. What should I do?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I am very sorry to hear about your medical concerns, but I am glad you are paying attention to changes in your body. Please do not worry I am here to help. Based on your symptoms and the picture provided, I do not believe this is a major skin lesion. It appears to be a hyperpigmented skin patch around the mouth.

For treatment, you may use one of the following: Topical 0.2 percent Tacrolimus cream, Topical 0.05 percent Clobetasol ointment once daily, or 0.2 percent Hydrocortisone cream twice daily for one month. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to schedule a direct appointment or follow-up.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
