Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have small red dots on both feet that are itchy. I have no idea if they are insect bites or something else. I took Telfast for the itching, but it did not go away. The current medication includes Cetrizine for the flu and Dextromethorphan for cough.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq, and thank you for choosing us as your provider for health care.

I have gone through all your details and appreciate your concern.

It looks like papular urticaria to me, which is indeed caused by insects, including mosquitoes. That is why the lesions are mainly over distal extremities as they are mostly exposed. Use mosquito repellent and take other precautions for mosquitoes, such as using mosquito nets. For the existing lesions, you can apply Mometasone cream twice a day for one week.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Is Mometasone available over the counter?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Get Hydrocortisone 1 percent cream, which is available over the counter, and that should also work for it.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
