Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Since I was young, I have always been jealous of my older sister (5 years older than me). I am so ashamed and hate admitting that I am jealous of her because I love her so much. I have always been told that I am so pretty and have great features, but since she had her nose job, everyone has been going crazy about her and her amazing body (I am skinnier, and because of her, I am so insecure about my body). I also want a nose job to look as good as she is and get complimented. I hate it when people compliment her or when one of my friends or boyfriend tells me that my sister is pretty. I am dying from this stupid damn jealousy. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand. You already know the answers to your questions. You can have your nose done without any issues and can look pretty. You are younger than your sister by five years. After five years, you could also look beautiful like your sister. You could be prettier than your sister then. You could be prettier than your sister then. I believe jealousy is just a mask, you love your sister, but you do not want to convince yourself about that fact. This is a psychological defense mechanism. Rationalization is putting something into a different light or offering a different explanation for one's perceptions or behaviors in the face of a changing reality. Do not worry. This is healthy and will pass after some months. Actually, you are maturing. Take care.

Thank you.
