What products are effective for dry, dull facial skin?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am experiencing a serious problem with my skin. It is extremely dry, cracked, and appears dull and lacking in brightness. My facial skin is also affected in the same way.
I have tried using various body lotions, but none have produced any noticeable improvement. The current cold weather seems to have significantly worsened the dryness.
Could you please advise me on what products I should use or what steps I can take to improve my skin condition?
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Please help me.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I am truly sorry to hear about your medical condition, and I commend you for paying close attention to the changes occurring in your body. Please do not worry, I am here to support and guide you through this.
Based on the symptoms you have described, it appears you may be experiencing acute dermatitis or possibly inflammatory hypopigmentation, which is a condition that interferes with the normal development and maintenance of skin pigmentation.
May I ask if you have recently changed any cosmetic products, soaps, or skincare routines? Such changes can sometimes trigger or worsen skin inflammation or sensitivity.
In terms of treatment, I recommend trying one of the following topical medications:
-
Tacrolimus 0.2% cream, applied once daily (q.d.).
-
Clobetasol ointment 0.05%, applied once daily (q.d.), or
-
Hydrocortisone cream 0.2%, applied twice daily (b.i.d.) for one month.
Please monitor your skin’s response and discontinue any product that worsens irritation. It is important to avoid prolonged use of strong topical steroids without supervision, as they may cause side effects.
If you have further concerns or questions, I encourage you to schedule a direct appointment or follow up with me via chat, phone call, or video consultation.
Feel free to ask if you need any more clarification or help with your questions.
Thank you.
