Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Today I was kneeling on the floor of my kitchen to turn off the water valves under the sink. When I got back up, there was a stream of blood coming out just under my knee. A glass was broken a few days ago, so I think a piece of that may have caused it. The wound is not very deep and does not hurt, but I am worried some may still be in there. Is it possible for this piece to move around in my body and cause damage? I am especially worried about this because it is located on a joint. Could movement over time dislodge it?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Such a thing does not happen. Be very sure that nothing is left inside. A clean wound with no pus formation suggests no piece of glass is left inside. Just take proper wound care. I hope you have received tetanus dosage in the past year. If not, please get that done. Apply Betadine ointment to the wound and cover the area while bathing, as no water should enter there.

Thank you.
