Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Is it possible to get pregnant without having a period as a lactating mother of a 10-month-old? I had unprotected sex with my husband. I feel wet, but I cannot tell if it is ovulation or just natural lubrication, and I have no libido.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry, I am here to take care of you. Regarding your question, yes, it is possible to get pregnant without a period, as I believe you have what we call lactation amenorrhoea, which is a lack of menses while breastfeeding your 10-month-old baby.
So, despite having your feelings wet or no libido, it is a high index of suspicion that you may be pregnant after your recent intercourse with your spouse. So clinically, I will ask you to do a pregnancy test for confirmation purposes.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Thank you.
