Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
We are planning for a second attempt at IVF treatment. I had a myomectomy, left salpingectomy (left fallopian was removed) with ovarian drilling eight years ago. I had a scan and a blood test required for new IVF. The scan discovered fluid on the left ovary. She initially thought this could be hydrosalpinx as the sonographer did not realize that I did not have a left fallopian tube. When I them, they said the fluid could be from the surgery. I would like a second opinion after close observation of my old scan results and the new one, all attached. I want to know if this fluid or anything else if observed could be a hindrance to our IVF next month, and if so what to do next. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to Icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
As you have not sent me the sonography scan reports, I will answer you from give information. The fluid that is seen on the left side of your pelvis is most probably due to an infection either in your uterus or in the ovary. So it is advised to first treat that infection and then go for the second attempt of IVF (in vitro fertilization), otherwise, there are chances of abortion even if you conceive. The treatment of the infection is giving antibiotics. Hence, I suggest you to please get the following test done before starting the treatment.
1. Complete blood count.
2. Urine examination.
I hope this information will help you.
Please revert with the test reports in case of further queries.
Thank you.
