Why is the lung cancer not shrinking despite chemotherapy?

Hello doctor,

I am a 55-year-old male. I was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer last year and have been taking chemotherapy for about six months now. My symptoms earlier were a severe cough, fatigue, and weight loss. Recently, the CT scan still shows the tumor almost the same size.

Current treatment is Carboplatin and Paclitaxel chemotherapy cycles and anti-nausea medicines. The doctor says we will review again, but I am very worried.

Why is my lung cancer not shrinking after six months of chemo?
Does this mean treatment failed, or sometimes tumors take longer to respond?

Kindly advise.
