Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My doctor encouraged me to get an apicolordotic view X-ray, which revealed fibroid density in the upper right apex. What does this imply?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your X-rays(attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

An apicolordotic view is a chest X-ray taken from a precise angle to offer a more comprehensive image of the upper region of the lungs, around the collarbone (clavicle) and shoulder. A fibroid density is a tiny, round, and dense region visible on an X-ray or other imaging examination. The fibroid density in the radiograph is at the upper right apex of the lung. Fibroid densities are frequent on chest X-rays and are often benign (non-cancerous). Scar tissue or fibrous tissue that has grown in the lung as a result of past infections, inflammation, or other lung disorders is often the reason. Fibroid densities, in most situations, do not necessitate further investigation or treatment because they are not connected with any symptoms or health issues. Your doctor may, however, advise you to undergo further testing, such as a computed tomography (CT) scan or lung function tests, to thoroughly analyze the region and rule out any underlying lung issues. If you have any concerns about the fibroid density found on your X-ray, talk to your doctor about it and follow their suggestions for further assessment and therapy.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
