Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to solve a doubt. We are getting a lot of malaria cases around our area. And we read something about a phlebovirus. We want to understand if the malaria virus is more harmful than the phlebovirus. Which causes more serious cases, and what can be done to not catch any of the two viruses? Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Actually, malaria is very common, while phlebovirus is not really common. So we can say that malaria is more likely to be spread in common areas where water is stored in large amounts such as ponds, rivers, and all. While phlebovirus is not really common, due to that we can say that malaria is more dangerous than phlebovirus. Malaria spreads through mosquitoes, and it can be treated if diagnosed immediately. So, if you develop a fever with chills, then you should get tested for malaria, but if you get a fever with races. Then you should think about other infections. This infection can be treated accordingly. So do not worry if you get any symptoms, then consult.

If there is anything else you can let me know.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
