Is recovery unlikely if there is damage to the nerve cells, particularly after two years?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a meningioma brain tumor and underwent two open surgeries as well as one radiosurgery. Currently, the entire left side of my body is not moving. Ten years ago, I had my first open surgery, followed by radiosurgery after two years. Then, one year later, I underwent a second open surgery. It has been nearly three years since the second open surgery, and my condition is stable but not improving. After the radiosurgery, my condition worsened, and it remains largely unchanged. Please let me know if there is any potential way to recover from this situation.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Once there is damage to the nerve cells in the brain, recovery is typically unlikely, especially after a period of more than two years. Any potential recovery usually occurs within the first two years. If you email me your latest MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) images, I can assess whether any interventions can be considered to improve your condition.

Thank you.
