Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from menorrhagia for nearly 16 years now. I have consulted many obstetrician-gynecologists, but none have been able to help me. They have not found any cysts, fibroids, or tumors. I have to use pads every day because the bleeding and clots are so severe. I cannot go out, see friends, or be intimate with my significant other. I have not left my home in over three years. I am currently taking iron supplements to manage the blood loss and occasionally, as suggested by a doctor I saw, I take four ibuprofen every seven hours on very bad days. I read that taking vitamin A for 15 days along with vitamin C might help. Is it safe for me to try this? If not, any assistance you can offer would be a tremendous relief.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Having experienced menorrhagia for so many years is truly distressing. Strangely, there is nothing on the ultrasound. I see that you have been visiting many doctors. Please understand that, based on your medical history, your BMI (body mass index) is high, and your weight is on the higher side. Please ensure once again that you do not have any underlying conditions like thyroid issues, high blood pressure, or diabetes, as they are often associated with this kind of medical history. Additionally, on the ultrasound, we need to check the endometrial thickness and proceed with a dilatation and curettage. The endometrial sample needs to be sent for testing. Hormonal supplements might also help, but we need to carefully weigh the pros and cons. Please stay in touch with the gynecologist and continue with the further steps.

I hope your queries are resolved and any further queries are welcome. Thank you.
